The librarian: Plot

Elisabeth “Beth” a librarian has been working at Gideon’s university in Toronto for 5 years with a side gig of being a bartender at night to earn extra cash to pay off her student loans. One night, when arranging books on the fifth floor, she passed a door of the library manager. Mr. Moses speaking to a figure she could not see. It was almost 11pm and she was responsible of closing the library that day. The last student on the 5th floor was out by 10:30pm. With the intent of informing him that she was about to turn off all the lights on that floor, she knocked, but Mr Moses didn’t hear her. So, she decided to scan her card, ask if he needed anything and remind him that she must close soon. As she poked her head through, she saw a shadow moving on the chair. A speaking shadow person. She saw Mr. Moses promising the non-existence flesh that he will find the formula to accomplish the mission. Startled she closed the door causing Mr. Moses to notice that someone was listening. From then, Beth began to run for her life.

Few days later, she learned that a formula was created years ago by a friend of Oscar. The friend was attending Cape town University when he decided to conduct an experiment on chromium and dioxin when he was an intern at SGS. However, when Oscar noticed the higher amount of those components he warned him, but the latter had already showed the sample to Dr Pawn who had other plans in mind. Oscar promised his friends to revise the chemical elements and the chemical equations so the formular won’t do harm to anyone in case it’s used in the lab. But little did he know, Banza, a town in S.A was already starting to see the effect of the formula.

As thoughts piled up in her mind, Beth saw bits of questionable clues around her. What’s the formula about? The formula for what? Apparently, it’s written in a book somewhere. Looking for answers from her special ‘file’, she couldn’t detect what book it might be. As she worked relentlessly, her colleague Sharon notices how worn off she was and invited her for a weekend gate away to Niagara Falls. There she realised that the trip served another purpose. Sharon was more than what Beth thought she was. As Sharon explained where she comes from, she mentioned that Beth was the key to finding the solution to bringing her town Banza in its old form. Sharon assured Beth that her ‘file’ was the wheel to finding the formula. Only if she learnt how to decode its message before the whole population of Banza turned into invisible ghosts. With no time to wonder why Oscar would leave such an important tool when he knew the danger it put her in, she learnt that if she doesn’t reverse the formula on time, the whole world is coming to an end.
